You all have no clue how hard it was to type December! But, yes, it is here. Bring on the merriment and all that good cheer! Amirite?
Or, perhaps it is a much better idea to jump on board the Peace Knitting Train…
I was worried a bit about having enough yardage of my handspun, but then I got an update from our Peace Project leader which alleviated many of my fears. So, shortly I will get out my size 8 needles, cast on, and channel all the peace I can muster on this first day of December!
I am hoping clue #1 is short as I want to get back to this yoke. I am almost done with the colorwork, then on to some short-row shaping. But, either way I have a wonderful knitting companion in Never Caught, which is not long and I am almost done with it! It is fascinating and filled with history I did not know about at all! It will be the perfect companion for today’s knitting time!
Now, here are a few links for your first weekend in December!
Nothing says get ready for Christmas like Arne and Carlos. They have big plans for Sunday nights, and if you don’t subscribe to their YouTube channel, you should!
Útivist (meaning outdoors in Icelandic; pronounced ootivist)
Baby Yoke Sweaters These are just too cute!
Jolly Stocking Cap This reminds me of a cap I had when I was a little girl!
Aada These mittens!
Aubade
Londoner I really love this!
Ambient, a sweatshirt sweater with lovely details.
Faux cables make Aileas worth considering! Also, I love the version with the contrasting color in the neckband and inside the pockets!

Beth Smith has kits for her Spin and Weave Along for sale!

That is all I have for this week, I have some knitting to do! See you all back here on Monday! Enjoy your weekend!
Wow, pie as art! (I’m happy if I can manage a woven lattice.) Have a great weekend!
I’m still thinking about just casting on a sweater and knitting. scary….
Nice links, as always Kat – thanks. and, yes, OMG those pies!!!!!
Those pies are incredible — too beautiful to eat!
Happy December, Kat! May you find peace in your day!
I picked out my peace yarn this morning but I’m not starting until I finish my Islington shawl!
Love those pie crusts!
I have selected my yarn for the peace shawl. Fingers crossed…
Those links…I want to knit it ALL!!!
Did you start your project peace shawl? I am about 8 ripples in. Putting it down to work on my sweater now. The links are wonderful, as usual. Enjoy your blog post free weekend.
I did get it started! However, I am contemplating if I need to go up a needle size. I only have 2 ripples done, so ripping back won’t be so bad.
I wish I was done knitting for others…sigh. However, I’m enjoying my projects and you are giving me lots of good ideas of what to knit myself when I do reach my knitting gift goals.
THOSE PIES!!! 🙂
Also . . . I would have a super hard time leaving that yoke for anything else. It is just beautiful and looks like such fun to knit!
Have a great weekend!
The yoke is stupendous! Joined the Peaceknitalong for the peace…will take up the knitting later,at this point. Continue to enjoy your weekend and again, congrats on another NaBloPoMo under your belt!
Cheers~
Arne and Carlos are just so cute!
