Today starts the weekend that isn’t.
It is a weekend, but there isn’t much us time. A good friend of Steve’s is getting married tomorrow and Steve is standing up with him.
So, happy hour isn’t happening tonight.
There will be some brief moments of resistance for me on Saturday morning, but the remainder of the day isn’t what I normally do.
Perhaps we can squeeze a weekend into Sunday… we shall have to see. But, reality tells me that isn’t likely.
But of course, I have some links for you:
It was a quiet week on Ravelry but I recently knit a hat pattern by Mary Lou Egan and she released Swales DK in January which I somehow missed. However, she writes a great pattern and I love the simple pattern.
Virginia Sattler-Reimer has a new sock pattern
This one is for Mary who loves Lori Versaci patterns (And, Mary… Shibui Linen + Pebble!) Interesting construction as well!
Churchmouse Teas and Yarns has a new Sleeveless Slipover pattern! Oh, man! I love all the options – Dress length, tunic, short… I love them all!
And, finally today begins Round 3 of the MDK March Mayhem… I am amazed how well I am doing!! How about you? Are your favorites still in?
Hoping you can enjoy the weekend despite it being a tad bit different. My favorites ARE still in the MDK brackets – woo-hoo! As always, thanks for the link. The Flycatcher socks look like fun and I have been eyeing the Lori Versaci pattern.
have fun at the wedding and I hope you get some ‘us’ time tucked in between the ceremony and food and photos 🙂
I do hope you find a few moments this weekend for something that IS going to recharge you for the coming week. I am not a sweater knitter, but the sweaters that you linked today may convince me to become one. They are gorgeous!
Weddings are usually fun. Maybe you’ll catch the bouquet!!! 😉
As always, LOVE the links!!!
Those socks look interesting enough to be, well, interesting, but not so boring that they’ll be, well, boring. (Like I need another sock pattern…but what the hay!)The others also look interesting, too.
While it isn’t your typical weekend plans I predict it will be loads of fun!
I hope you can find some together time at some point. Busy weekends can be exhausting, but it’s good to have a happy reason for a busy weekend!
I hope you find some peace and joy in your weekend!
I am finally have an “IS” weekend! Hope those things that are keeping you from your normal things will be fun too.
Thanks for the links that open in a new window. I love that.
Hoping your weekend IS a good one! and gah! how did I miss the new Churchmouse patterns??!! I love the Slipover (especially in the tunic length) but think the Quintessential Cardigan would be my first one to knit (already thinking about yarns!) I’ve tried on the sample of the Lori Versaci you linked for me (aw, just for me!) and … yeah not. The way the neck closes is kind of fiddle-y. But the yarn combo is really nice.
I am wishing you a bang up time at the wedding! It’ll be enjoyable – even if not your usual Sat activity.
Enjoyed the links to all those lovely knit pieces…which one/s will soon be on your needles?
Cheers~
Hope your mixed-up weekend was wonderful! (Sometimes we just have to go off-script, y’know?) Can’t wait to hear all about it.
