My dear, sweet Paper-whites,
It is week 2 and you are still blooming. You have no idea how much joy you have provided in your simple act of non-stop flowering.
However, I would like to address your distinct aroma. While I did not notice this at the apex of my cold – I must tell you, while you look stunning you really need to get a new perfume.
Joyfully,
Holding my breath
Dear Representative Lewis and to the 34 members of congress joining you,
Thank you!
Thank you for the statement this makes. Thank you for the example of peacefully protesting what is not right.
I shall be joining you in not watching any of the activities on Friday.
With Deep Gratitude and In Solidarity,
A Fellow Boy-cotter
Dear United States of America,
I want you to know that I have not lost faith in you, even though it might seem that way.
Signed,
Your Faithful and Recommitted Citizen
And, finally…
Dear Fitbit Scale,
We have a long love/hate relationship and for many years I have avoided and ignored you.
But then I got serious and so did you. Each week you have given me high fives when I have done well and you have helped me regroup when I have not done so well.
Thanks for all the encouragement – it really makes a difference. Especially, today’s nice little email!
I am looking forward to this continuing journey!
Signed,
Almost Halfway There
I laughed (at the paperwhite odor), I cheered (for John Lewis et al.), I cried (at your pledge to uphold the Constitution), and cheered again (for your incredible weight loss)! I love Fitbit’s encouraging words – way to go, Kat!
Dear Kat,
I love your Dear Tuesday letters and as with Bonny, laughed out loud about the PaperWhite’s odor! I am with you re: the Constitution, the Friday event…not watching either! And way to go with your weight loss! You rock!
Cheers~
Congratulations! 40 pounds is impressive!
Personally, I am not watching any of the inauguration (if I can help it) on Friday, and I am going to be wearing all black (except for my rainbow-striped socks).
I love the idea of wearing all black! And many, many congratulations on your weight loss!!!
Congratulations! I’m with you on the oath to uphold the Constitution and wearing black on Friday.
I love your letters! Everyone of them is well said and I applaud you for your citizen action (and I’m with you). Paperwhites lure you into thinking the odor isn’t that bad, but then, BAM! They have long been banished from my home despite their beauty.
My paperwhites don’t smell bad at all, I think it’s a special variety or something. And yes yes YES on all of your other letters. Congrats on 40 pounds, that’s an awesome accomplishment!
I just have to begin with my hearty congratulations on your 40 lb. weight loss. Oh, that is just so awesome!!! Hurray! As for all the rest — I’m with you! (Paperwhites. Such a good idea. Until they bloom. Ugh. . . that smell.)
Great letters! I had paper whites in my house just once. It took me awhile to figure out what smelled so foul but it is a scent that those lovely little flowers do not deserve!
A great collection of letters and congratulations on the 40 lbs – that’s awesome! (I’ve never had paper whites and I’m unfamiliar with the smell… looks like I’m gonna stay that way!)
congrats on your weight loss!! I am in awe 🙂
