The week is ending on a very good note (especially since it began on Thursday night!)
While I have not seen any butterflies at all in the last week or so (like the beauty above from last year’s visit to Ohio Pyle) I have seen some curious (and brave!) bees in the flower beds in the past couple of days! It seems they sleep on flowers! There is your fun fact for the day!
Hopefully today I will find some time to get the body done on my Sigla! I only have about three inches to go and I can begin the sleeves!
Now how about a few (sadly very few this week) Friday Links:
Kelbourne Woolens is doing a very interesting series on swatching.
- The Great Swatch Experiment
- KW Swatch experiment: Knitting Tight vs. Knitting Loose
- KW Swatch experiment data: Acadia
- KW Swatch experiment data: Arranmore
That is all I have for today. Have a fantastic weekend and see you back here on Monday!
P.S. Are any of you thinking of participating in NaBloPoMo? It is curious that I have heard (nor read) nothing about it at all. But, I am in… are you?
LOVE the Hap Cowl – was looking at that the other day.
That Open Road sweater is lovely! I am back on the needles with my Sigla just in time for weekend knitting. I am hoping to blog more in November so count me in.
I halfheartedly toy with nanowrimo but I know I would cave to self imposed pressure. So it’s probably not a good idea for me to do that to myself. However, I like the idea of saying “write for one hour” so many times a week. I didn’t see any monarchs this year…but we have lots of bees!!
I love that you still have flowers for the bees! I’ve left all the seedheads from my coneflowers and black-eyed susans for the birds, but don’t have any remaining blooms. I’ve been debating with myself about NaBloPoMo, but haven’t yet decided. We’ll see … (which usually meant no when my parents said it). Happy Sigla knitting and happy weekend!
I haven’t seen bees for a while, I’m glad you are protecting them. I love that Camerado cowl from the Open Road collection – thanks for that link!
I like that Open Road too! Love your links! Definitely no on NaBloPoMo this year. But…maybe a few more posts than usual!
Thank you for the links – even that small list is more than I’ve managed on my few seconds with Raverly this week. I’ve been following that KW swatch experiment – and happily sharing the results with my students. It’s great to have so much proof about swatching out there now! I finally made it to the colorwork on the 1st sleeve today… with luck I’ll be blocking the sweater this weekend. But yikes! it’s gonna be HOT again here next week. (figures. just as I finish the perfect sweater for chilly days 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!
Yup. I’ll be doing NaBloPoMo. I usually don’t tell anyone about it until the month is over; if I tell people I’m going to do something, it often gives me the freedom to abandon it immediately.
Oooh, that Hap Cowl — lovely!!
I can’t NOT do NaBloPoMo after all these years! It’s the only time I somewhat plan my posts, and I began working on my calendar yesterday!
Who knew that bees slept on flowers! How crafty is Mother Nature!
I’d been stalking NaBloPoMo on their Facebook page and just read this update -10/29 @ 1:10 pm EST: https://www.facebook.com/groups/428279130704470/.
More info: Yay!
Cheers~
