An online friend started off the New Year with a return to Meme Monday. I felt it was a good way to begin as well.

Therefore, here is my contribution…If you use this Meme, leave me a comment so I can read your choices!

David Sedaris and Garrison Keillor are tied.

Seriously… you need to ask? Why, Mr. Darcy, of course!

Anything by E.B White, I loved them all!

See above and add in both Judy Blume’s Are you there God, it’s me Margaret and the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Squint: My Journey with Leprosy by Jose Ramirez

Wow, The Last of the Mohicans. You all could motivate me to read it!

10) Who deserves to win the next Nobel Prize for Literature?
Well, it is a bit early in the year to even have an idea of what might be good but the next book on my list is The Help, a novel by Kathryn Stockett

11) What book would you most like to see made into a movie?
Hmmm, I am not a huge fan of books to movies – there is always something lost in translation. But, I will go ahead and toss my hat in the ring for the latest Dan Brown novel, The Lost Symbol.

Any of the twilight series – I have no intention of reading the novels (and I use that term loosely) nor seeing any of the movies.

Suffice it to say that it involves Hawkeye and the music from the Last of the Mohicans.

14) What is the most lowbrow book you’ve read as an adult?
Anything by Susan Johnson – sometimes a girl just needs a cheap, trashy romance novel.
15) What is the most difficult book you’ve ever read?

Not so obscure, but The Tempest.

21) Austen or Eliot
Austen, but of course!

22) What is the biggest or most embarrassing gap in your reading?
When my kids were little, I would collapse into bed at the end of the day and be lucky to get through a page. Sadly there were a great number of years when the only books I finished were by Dr. Seuss!

23) What is your favorite novel?
Well, I have a long list. I love Pride and Prejudice. I also enjoy anything by David Baldacci. I find Garrison Keillor’s simple wit easy to settle in with, and David Sedaris’ sarcasm is priceless!
